Sunday afternoon. Walk in the city center. Bad weather. Where to go to take shelter from the cold, to end your weekend in style by pampering yourselves before a new (and long) week starts and, at the same time, to silence the anguish you feel when you realize you still have to wait a whole week before the next weekend? We’ve got a solution: it’s Prodotti Gianduja Torino.
In a central position, few steps away from Piazza Castello, there is a cozy and beautiful place, in which you can discover the real taste of chocolate and its derivatives, made with few but excellent ingredients. This is how flavored hot chocolate is born, with no thickeners but with a touch of honey, served in a fondue mug with a tea light to be turned off when the desired thickness and temperature are reached. Or their personal version of Bicerin, an hot beverage typical of Turin, with few alcohol and very chocolatey (after all, it is a chocolate shop).
Everything with buttery, tasty, crumbly cookies as a side. We also recommend their spreadable creams, to eat with cookies, mini croissants or slices of breads (just like when we were kids): among the many flavors available, our favorite is gianduja – quite obvious! – but also almond and vanilla (which is dark, probably because there is cocoa inside). We couldn’t not to talk about giandujotti, their strong point, and Dolceamaro: a taste itinerary of six gianduiotti, plated in a scale from the sweetest (the clearest) to the most bitter (the darkest) one. Have fun discovering what do you like best. Ours is dark chocolate giandujotto.
And if you don’t feel like ordering chocolate, you can choose a good glass of wine, served with a nice cup of hazelnuts. Or an evergreen such as coffee with whipped cream.
Prodotti Gianduja: an excellent place for a snack and a cuddle for your heart and soul. And if you consider the health benefits of chocolate, well, why are you still waiting?
