Two steps away from Porta Susa station, under the portici, there is a little gem: it’s a Neapolitan style café. Actually, it’s not uncommon to find places that offer Neapolitan cuisine in Turin, but it’s not always worth it, especially when it comes to desserts (or pizza!).
This place is Pastarell, which is as essential as good, and perfect for a rich breakfast, a tasty afterlunch or a yummy afternoon snack. Ok, the location may be small and there are few tables, but the wide range of “pastarell”, that is pastries, will leave you open-mouthed. From the zeppole di San Giuseppe to the sfogliatelle ricce and frolle, from the traditional baba to the croissants and brioches, you will be spoilt for choice.
So, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and go taste it! But first… try to read the ode to the sweetness in Neapolitan dialect on the front door.
